Radiance is a major aldar city and the capital of the Ruedar cartel. As the Ruedar are focused on trading in gems, other precious stones, and various forms of mineral wealth, their city is perhaps one of the best fortified amongst the already security conscious dark elves. Unlike other aldar cities where moving goods efficiently is one of the top priorities, the Ruedar work in the opposite direction. There are several different neighborhoods with barriers between them and security checks at the gates. They refer to these neighborhoods as facets. It must be said that during the recent war with the Slarmann cartel, these extra precautions were only partially effective.
Radiance is a city of some 16,000, nearly all of them being aldar. Unlike some other aldar cities, the slave population here is low as slaves are considered security risks. Many of the cartel members have some magical abilities, though they often focus on emotional control magics to encourage their customers to pay high prices.
Radiance is located under the northernmost section of the Slyvanian Forest. It is roughly due west of Rhum, about 350 miles. It is about 200 miles north-northwest of the elven capital of Slyvania. While most aldar will trade with anyone, the Ruedar are some of the most open, frequently trading with their dwarven neighbors.
