Despite most of the garuh being along the perimeter, you can see some of the arrows are coming from the small number of trees within the clearing. You sprint towards one of the trees and begin to climb, certain you can kill the inhabitant and then begin to take your vengeance out on the others.
You are no more than a third of the way to the garuh's perch when the arrows begin hitting you. You have no idea how many have connected with you, but you do realize you are now laying on the ground next to the tree bleeding out. Maybe thinking you were a superhero who could survive such an onslaught was stupid.
