Glacier Bay is the small waterway where the city of Glacier Point lies. While it is referred to as a bay, it might better be called an estuary (of the Chonitar River). But it is also a wide fjord.
Glacier Bay is well known as one of the most reliable ports in northern Drentae. This is both because of its somewhat southern (compared to the Frozen Sea) location, but also due to the northern flowing Chonitar bringing warmer waters into the bay and thus opening the port far earlier than any other deep sea port nearby. As such it is the trading center of the Tanta Bosh culture.
This port without ice is what Glacier Bay is known for. It’s nature as a fjord also makes it one of the safer places to hold up during winter storms. While fjords can focus the force of gales, the southern direction of this fjord makes it highly unlikely that the winds will follow into the narrows, but instead typically stand as walls keeping the winds out.
